West Lake Hills Neighborhood

Neighborhood Map

Back in the early 1950's, the state capitol was one of the tallest buildings in Texas and West Lake Hills was on the outskirts of Austin. Today, West Lake Hills is considered to be near the center of the city, with attractions like Zilker Park, Barton Springs and the University of Texas just minutes away. You're right across LadyBird Lake from downtown – and just a short drive from high tech employers like Outbound Engine, Spiceworks, Retail Me Not and Dropbox and more. The homes in West Lake Hills can start at around $700,000 for older properties and can quickly head into the multi-million range for custom homes on larger lots. Home styles range from Mediterranean to Modern, Traditional to Texas Prairie and everything in between – with many of the homes in West Lake Hills taking advantage of the terrain to offer amazing views. There are a number of upscale boutiques in the area, or you can head over to Barton Creek Mall for more shopping options. But the big draw is that all of the homes in the area are served by the Eanes Independent School District, which is consistently ranked as one of the top school districts in the nation. After school, you might find kids at the Westbank Library brushing up on their studies, or playing tennis on one of the many courts in the area. When it's time to eat, head over to the Grove for a Kobe Beef burger, or to Marye's Gourmet Pizza to create your own masterpiece. Top ranked schools, beautiful views, 10 minutes to downtown and 20 minutes to the airport. It’s no wonder that West Lake Hills is one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Austin. Want to know more?
